The channeling build I've been using is as follows:
Bloodsong
Spirit Rift
Essence Strike
Spirit Burn
Destructive was Glaive {E}
Ancestor's Rage
Mend Body and Soul
Resurrect/Rebirth
The elite is a Nightfall skill, however, so you can replace it with Attuned was Songkai, or maybe Clamor of Souls. I bring a self heal since DwG requires me to run directly into the middle of the fight to be really effective. If you plan to stay at a distance, you might not need the healing skill. Sub in Gaze from Beyond if this is the case.
An alternative would be run a Rt/E build with significant points in Earth Magic. You could then bring Grasping was Kuurong as your elite, plus Aftershock and Ancestor's Rage. Flesh it out with a couple of damage skills of your choice (channeled strike for dmg + energy management maybe), a resurrection skill, and a self heal since we're back to the needing to be in the middle of the fight issue again. You could also sub in Earthbind if you have trouble firing off Aftershock + Ancestor's Rage in time. Even with zero points in Communing, you should be able to cast the item spell, summon the spirit, dash in, and drop ashes + Aftershock + Ancestor's Rage before it dies. Earthbind will keep your enemies on the ground for 3 seconds. The drawback to this build is that three of your skills require foes to be clumped up to really be effective. Keep in mind that I'm sort of thinking out loud here; I haven't actually tried a build with Grasping + Aftershock.
Anyhow, good luck with the channeling build. I really enjoy playing a channeling ritualist; you can do a heck of a lot of damage with the right chain of skills.
